I cup your face in my palm
and look you square in the eye
I am the curve of your smile
but you laugh behind my hand

I am your armour
Your camouflage
I leave you unrecognisable
You hide behind my back

During these uncertain times
When you can’t see what’s ahead
I am the one who’s holding
your breath
